Main activities

SAFIRE is a common service of Meteo-France, CNRS/INSU and CNES.
It offers three instrumented aircraft covering the main needs in airborne research, from the very low troposphere to the low stratosphere.
The aircraft instrumentation covers a wide scientific field. The facility provides data processing, infrastructure and logistical, technical and scientific support. It gives also the possibility of integration and certification of new instruments.

Quick-look and first step processing are provided by SAFIRE.
Stronger processing of data is also available on request.

Training

Training is possible.

Gound infrastructure

Based in Toulouse at a military airfield (Francazal).
SAFIRE owns 300 m² offices and a large hangar (2200 m²).
One meeting room is used for campaign coordination (network is available).
