#8th EUFAR Airborne Science Webinar: Atmosphere, organised by the EUFAR Thematic Group on Atmosphere

The Webinar emphasizes current research activities relying on airborne observations. If global models are currently built up based largely on satellite observations, the remaining uncertainties are linked with fine-scale processes which are beyond satellite capabilities. In the presentations, innovative techniques and observation strategies onboard aircraft, balloons and UAVs offer new insights for atmospheric monitoring and research in complement to ground-based observations, with a potential for interoperable instrumentation. Airborne observations onboard UAVs are also described as a good tool to collect high-quality atmospheric data for calibrating and validating satellite observations.
