ESA’s wind-profile observation mission, ADM-Aeolus, is entering its integration and testing phase and will be ready for launch at the end of 2016. To support the satellite’s final phase of development and in preparation for validating the mission’s measurements once in orbit, a field campaign, WindVal, is being carried out from Iceland. Since the satellite carries a wind lidar, this campaign, which is being carried out in Iceland, also involves using different lidars installed on aircraft.
